Pathway Description
Ketone Body Metabolism
Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Metabolic Pathway
The ketone body metabolism is a simple pathway that shows a reversible reaction from acetoacetyl-Coa to acetyl-CoA. Both are combined to form S-3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA. The latter compound can then be incorporated into the steroid biosynthesis pathway.
